Floyd Carl Marten, 59, of Monrovia, Maryland, formerly of Bowler, died on Saturday, July 24, 2004 at his residence.

He was born on December 7, 1944 in Bowler, the son of the late Lester Paul and Eva Mamye (Williams) Marten.

Floyd graduated from Bowler High School and also the UW in Oshkosh. He was united in marriage to Mavis D. Yonker at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bowler, his wife of 39 years. He was a CPA and also president and owner of Eastern Glass Lined Storage, Inc. in Westminster, MD. Mr. Marten was a member of the NRA, Ducks Unlimited and founder of Heart of Maryland Bow Hunters Association. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Mavis, Floyd is survived by four children: Vikki (Greg) Stansberry, Jody (John) Czapp, Amy (Greg) Richardson all of Hanover, PA and Jeffrey (Natoshia) Marten of Frederick, MD; 12 grandchildren: Chelsea, Shelbi, Daniel, Matthew, Andrew, Nicole, Garrett, Morgan, Hailey, Hannah, Jenna and Heidi: two sisters: Janet (Douglas) Johnson of Bowler, WI and Marcia (Bruce) Felts of Shawano, WI; a sister-in-law, MaryAnn Marten of Plover, WI; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Marten was preceded in death by a brother, Lester Marten.

Services will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2004 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Bowler. The Rev. Clifford Kessen will officiate. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Town of Almon, Shawano County. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5-8 PM at Schmidt-Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg and then again on Thursday at the church from 10AM until time of services.
