Maude as she was called her whole life, was born to Ambrose Booten Holmes & Emma Jane Greenwell in Dexter, Kansas. She married her childhood sweetheart Jan. 25,1905 in Winfield, Kansas. They moved the family to Idaho in 1913 to farm at Lucerne,Idaho(north of Buhl) They stayed there until 1935 when they moved to Galt, California. Maude loved to quilt and garden and travel. She is buried next to Sam now in the Galt cemetery.
