    Perry J. Picco Sr. "Blackie"
78, at rest Wednesday, January 23, 2001 Provena St. Joseph Medical Center.
    Survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Elizabeth M. (nee) Avsec Picco; loving father of Elizabeth Jean, Perry Jr. (Okie), Louis (Melinda), Michael (Rima), Robert (Magda), Ronald Picco and special friend Gloria Salinas. Dearest grandfather of Tim, Allison, Brittany, Tony, Ginella, Matthew Picco. Three sisters, Louise (Alex) Bucciarelli, Mary McCalla, Jen Dubrovich; three sisters-in-law, Anne (Peter Dec.) Picco, Geri (Jim) Thayer, Jean (Jim) Davis. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
    Preceded in death by an infant daughter, Linda Marie and granddaughter Mary Kathleen; parents, Peter and Delfina (Nee) Geneseo Sr.; brothers, Stephen, Joseph, John, Peter and Charles Picco.
    Perry was born in Granville, IL, resided in Joliet most of his lifetime. Retired from APSA Rock Island and Joliet Army Ammunition Plant in 1981 and from Honeywell in 1989. Was a Sgt. US Army Veteran of WWII campaigns in Northern France, Battle of the Bulge and the Rhineland. Recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart, member of the VFW Orland Park and St. Joseph Holy Name Society.
    The family deeply appreciates the care and concern shown by our wonderful neighbors, Betty and Bob Pluth, Irene and Lou Frantini, Al and Theresa Evans, John Udell and Mike and Jeannine Balmer.
    In Lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph School Foundation or Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home would be appreciated.

   From where Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 27 at 11 AM to St. Joseph Church Joliet for a mass of resurrection at 11:30 AM. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery. St. Joseph Holy Name will meet on Friday at 4:30 PM. Visitation Friday, from 4 to 8 PM.
