A tombstone for Jacob is either missing or buried, but it is thought he is buried here with his family. His parents were Col.(Johann)Peter Hedrick, Sr. and Anna Ottillia Blum Hedrick.

Col. Johann Peter Hedrick (Heydrich), Jacob's father is the original Hedrick ancestor for this line, departed from Rotterdam, arriving in the port of Philadelphia on September 11,1738 on the ship Robert and Alice, captained by Walter Goodman. He and his family settled in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He served in the Revolutionary War, as did several of his sons, including my ancestor Jacob. Jacob settled in Fleming County, Kentucky near Hillsboro where his family is buried. He earned a land grant from his service in the war, and raised his family here.
