Catherine M. Boen 88, of 212 Walnut St. Girard, IL, died at 6:35 PM Saturday September 8, 2001 at Pleasant Hill Village Nursing Home, Girard, IL. Her funeral will be 1:30 PM Wednesday September 12, 2001 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Kevin Treptow officiating. Burial will be in Knoxville Cemetery, Knoxville. Visitation will be from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday September 11, 2001 at the Chapel. Memorials may be made to Girard Rescue Squad.
She was born on March 3, 1913 in Pawnee IL to Samuel and Isabella (McCaw) Mottershaw. She married William E. Boen in Galesburg on April 7, 1935. He preceded her in death on December 11, 1979. She was a custom draperies seamstress for Sears, Roebuck and Co. She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church and the Knoxville Hobby Club.
She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Secrist of Girard, IL, a brother, Harold Mottershaw of Virden, IL, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, William S. Boen, a daughter, Barbara Herring and a brother, Joe Mottershaw.
