Funeral services for Jackie Cassidy, age 65, of Lynch, Nebraska, were held on Monday, July 24, 2006, at the Assumption Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lynch. Rev. Garry Welsh officiated with burial in the Catholic Cemetery at Lynch.

Barb Weeder was organist and accompanied the ABVM Choir. Pallbearers were Nicholas Cassidy, Robert Nelson, Michael Lueken, Michael Wade, Eric Finch, Jared Weis, Kelly Roberts, Leroy Lueken, Jeff Krohn, and Dan Lueken.

She died Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, SD. Jacqueline A. Cassidy, daughter of Melvin and Mary (Warnke) Lueken, was born on Feb 17, 1941, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Lynch, Nebraska. She graduated from Lynch Public School.

On December 25, 1957, she was married to Duane Cassidy at Assumption Blessed Virgin Mary in Lynch. Four children were born to them, Alice, Galen, Steve, and Terry.

The couple farmed in the Lynch area and Jackie worked as a dietitian at the Niobrara Valley Hospital and as a painter for CRD Industries in Springfield, SD. She was a member of Assumption Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church and its Altar Society and was the first woman to serve on the Lynch Town Board.

Survivors include her husband Duane of Lynch; children, Galen Cassidy of San Diego, CA, Alice and Charles Nelson of Burlington, KS, Steve Cassidy of Prescott, AZ, Terry and Kristie Cassidy of Lynch, NE; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, James and Brigitte Lueken of Lynch, NE, Dan and Jean Roberts of Atkinson, NE, Duane Lueken of Omaha, NE, Dave and Susie Krohn of Des Moines, IA, George and Dianna Lueken of Albion, NE, Lawrence Lueken of Lynch, NE, Kurt Lueken of Omaha, NE, and Robert Lueken of Lynch, NE; a sister-in-law, Helen Lueken of Lynch, NE; and a brother-in-law, Raymond Wade of Lynch.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Kim Lueken; a sister, Milda Wade; and a nephew, Michael Cassidy.
