On Sept. 4, 2002, Jo Ellen Brasher Williams died from complications of lymphoma.

Jo was born Aug. 18, 1947, in Price, Utah to Kirk and Annis Carlson Brasher. Jo married Charles H. "Hank" Williams on August 9, 1968. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.

What characterized Jo's life was her passion and her zest for living. She had the opportunity to have homes all over the country (UT, WY, ID, FL, GA, AZ, VA) as well as to visit many parts of the world. She took every opportunity to explore and enjoy the culture and the people around her. Art was another of her talents and passions. She graduated in 1969 from the University of Utah with a degree in Interior Design and had the ability to make everything she touched beautiful.

She always had a hunger for reading and knowledge; seeking words that expressed her humanity. She was able to develop her skills as an excellent cook as well. Good food was a treasure to her and she loved being able to share it with her family and friends. But most of all she loved spending time with her family. She had a strong belief and appreciation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and was faithful in all her responsibilities and enjoyed the chance to love and serve those around her.

Jo is survived by her husband, Hank Williams; her father, Kirk Brasher; mother-in-law, Velda Williams; sisterd, Karen Brasher Tanner; Jill Brasher Spencer; children, Matthew Tyler (Sarah DuFord) Williams; Samuel Thomas (Raelynn Barton) Williams; Jan Elizabeth Williams; Mindy Anne Williams; grandchildren, Simon Oscar, Ellen Katherine, George Henry, and Charlotte Ophelia Williams.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Annis Brasher.

Her family is grateful for the love and influence she brought into our lives.

A visitation will be held Friday, September 6, 2002, from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah. (Enter from 300 East) Prior to the funeral service on Saturday, September 7, 2002, friends and loved ones may call at the Yalecrest LDS Chapel, 1035 South 1800 East, Salt Lake City, at 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon at the same chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America, in memory of Jo Williams, P.O. Box 9025, Pittsfield, MA 01202.
