Thomas Robert "Bob" Biddle

Sweetser – Thomas Robert "Bob" Biddle, 63, passed away at 6:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Marion General Hospital. Bob was born in Elwood, Indiana to Thomas O. and Mary Louise Biddle, and they preceded him in death. He was a United States Marine, serving 2 tours in Vietnam and received 2 purple hearts. He married Anna Shattuck on December 9, 1982 and she survives. He was a former certified cook and baker at Taylor University, coached Special Olympics for 16 years, and developed the war memorial on the Sweetser Trail. He enjoyed drawing, and working crossword puzzles. He was a member of the Sweetser Lions Club, and Marion Church of the Brethren. He enjoyed golfing and was a member of Arbor Trace Golf Course. He was a fan of the Cubs, Colts, and Notre Dame.
Survivors include wife, Anna Biddle, Sweetser; son, Chris (Janea Rasco) Biddle, Gas City; stepdaughters, Tracey (Jeff) Sweat, Fowlerton, Stacey (Rick) Stevens, Swayzee; grandson, Raef; 8 step grandchildren; 7 step great-grandchildren; brother, Frank Biddle, Marion; sister, Margaret Biddle, Marion.
Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Needham-Storey- Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main Street, Gas City, Indiana.
Funeral Services are at 1:00 pm on Friday, October 16, 2009 at Needham-Storey- Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main Street, Gas City, Indiana with Reverend Bill House officiating. Burial will be in Marion National Cemetery with military honors provided by Grant County Honor Guard.
