SALEM- John passed on peacefully on April 1.He was born in Sydney, Montana on January 29, 1921.He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a Restaurant Owner/Operator in Monmouth, Independence and Salem. He managed Bob's Restaurants in the 50's. His last was Johnnie's Diner West Salem. He was a member of EAGLES, ELKS and VFW. He is survived by his wife, Lois Glantz; sisters, Clara Hall and Irene Houston; children, John Glantz V, Stephen Glantz, Anita Padilla, Michael Glantz, Karen Hernandez, and Robert Glantz; step-children, Betty Kaufman, Jeannette Olafson, and Earnest Hitt. He has 23 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He has 11 step-grandchildren and 18 step-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at Howell-Edwards-Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Directors at 10:30 a.m. today April 4, 2006. Internment will be at 3:00 p.m. at Belle Passi Cemetery, in Woodburn. Contributions may be made to Fruitland Community Church or to charity of your choice.
