Dolores is survived by four children: Arthur Bernard Short of Joplin, Missouri, Gerry Lynn Miller of Conroe, Texas, Johnnie Blaze Short of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Kim Short of Conroe, Texas; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by husband Gerald R. Short; parents Arthur Baetge and Ella Marie Kanz Baetge; brothers Roland Baetge and Gil Baetge; sisters, Lola Vogel, Laura Schertz, Oteal Vordenbaum, and Norma Day; and 2 granddaughters, Amber Short and Stacy Short.
Earlier in her life, Delores had been very active in Scouts, P.T.A., and owned and operated various businesses.
She was a past member of the Social Order of the Beauceants; and a member of Yucca Temple No. 74, Daughters of the Nile, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Arrangements entrusted to Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis.
A Graveside Service officiated by Dave McFadden will be held Saturday, May 15 at 11 AM at Smith Memorial Park Cemetery in Willis, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to New Braunfels Conservation Society-Conservation Plaza, 1300 Churchill Drive, New Braunfels, TX 78130-3205, phone 830-629-2943.
