Born March 18, 1925, in Shelbyville, Indiana, she was the daughter of Jesse W. and Elsie M. (Hickman) Ross.
Marjorie was employed by Schwitzer Corporation as a private secretary for 16 years. She met her husband, Don on January 23, 1948 at the Indiana Ballroom where they regularly spent time dancing. Six months to the day later, they were married on July 23, 1948. They hand-built their house over the next eight years and as an accomplished seamstress, she decorated her lovely home with handmade draperies. She loved to garden and in the spring, she planted vegetables and throught out the year she kept her yard colorful with flowers and shrubs.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Survivors include her husband of over 60 years, Donald Royer; her daughter, Debbie (Kim) Herrmann; her brother, Paul E. (Mabel) Ross; two grandchildren: Tyler Mendenhall, Valerie Cavanaugh; two step grandchildren: Adam (Dahian) Herrmann, Andrew (Lori) Herrmann; and two great grandchildren: Lilah Cavanaugh and Cassidy Herrmann.
Funeral Services: Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at the Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel.
Burial: Lincoln Memory Gardens
