Lawrence "Bill", age 86, died on Friday at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie. He was born to Lawrence A. & Susan N. (Jozwiak) Skalitzky. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served during World War II. Bill was united in marriage to Betty Taylor on July 25, 1945. She preceded him in death in 1981. Bill enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, sports, and cooking. He was a member of the Laborers Union. He is survived by five children, Richard (Nancy), Sandra Frosch, Mary (John) Boehmer, Betty (Rocky) Rothrock and Linda (Alan) Ballweg; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Armond; two brothers, Armond and Wayne; and a special son-in-law, Gary Frosch. Private graveside services, with Military Rites was conducted by Lachmund-Cramer VFW Post 7694 on Thursday, June 3. Hooverson Funeral Home assisted with arrangements. His obiturary and a photo can be found in the Wisconsin State Journal on May 30, 2010.

Fisherman's Prayer - I pray that I may live to fish until my dying day. And when it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray, when in the Lord's great landing net and peacefully asleep, that in His mercy I be judged big enough to keep.
