NAOMI JOSEPHINE ROBY VanFAUSSIEN, 87, of Huntington, W.Va., passed away Thursday, December 11, 2003, in Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 13, 2003, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Larry Greene officiating. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. She was born January 22, 1916, in Huntington a daughter of the late Thomas Franklin and Florence J. Angle Roby. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hugh L. VanFaussien; two brothers, Walter Roby and Donald Roby; a son, Robert Eugene VanFaussien; and two great-granddaughters, Amber Sowards and Betty Jo Hitchcock. She was a retired secretary for the former Goodwin Refrigeration and was a member of Shiloh Methodist Church. She was an avid Marshall fan and was known as the "Coach Pruitt of Westview Manor." Survivors include a daughter, Betty Lewis of Huntington; two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Joe and Ruth Ann VanFaussien of Cordova, S.C. and Hugh Michael and Nan VanFaussien of Orangeburg, S.C.; 10 grandchildren and their spouses, Hugh Hitchcock, Charles Hitchcock, David Hitchcock, Liz and Stephen Yost, Donna and Larry Davis, and Sarah and Brian Sowards, all of Huntington, Stephanie Felkel and Stacey and Chris Drew, all of Cordova; and Kathryn VanFaussien and Elizabeth VanFaussien, both of Orangeburg, S.C.; 15 great-grandchildren; and her many friends at Westview Manor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2003, at Chapman's Mortuary.
