Janet Sullivan Chambers, 74, of West Paducah, formerly of Trigg County, died on Sunday, September 20, 2008, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. Burial was on Wednesday, September 24, 2008, at the McKendree Methodist Church Cemetery in McCracken County.
Mrs. Chambers was born on October 23, 1934, in Savannah, (Hardin County), Tenn. She was the daughter of the late George M. and Vera Vanhoose Sullivan.
Mrs. Chambers moved to Canton in Trigg County as a child, while her father worked at Lock E and her mother taught school for many years. She graduated from Trigg County High School in 1951, graduated from Murray State University, and taught school in the McCracken County School System for 33 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry "Stum" Chambers, and a son, George R. Chambers.
Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth; a son, Michael Chambers, with whom she made her home; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
