Jacob Truman "Jake" Pruett, 75, of Mascoutah, IL born June 26, 1927, in Fredericktown, MO died Friday, February 21, 2003 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville, IL after a brief illness. Mr. Pruett was a retired truck driver for Nollau Nurseries. He was a member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church, Mascoutah, IL. Mr. Pruett was a US Army veteran.

Mr. Pruett was preceded in death by his parents, William and Effie, nee Stacy, Pruett; a great-granddaughter, Danielle Spellman, four brothers, Raymond, Orville, Franklin, and Vernon Pruett; and four sisters, Clara Patton, Opal Laumbattus, Mary Yarber, and Vivian Keim.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" nee Wombacher, Pruett, whom he married June 30, 1967, in Fayetteville, IL; two sons, Larry (Roxanne) Pruett of Nashville, IL, and Randy (Patricia) Pruett of Raleigh, NC; two daughters, Elena (Bobby) Johnson of Rocky Mount, NC, and Elaine (Ron) Schaefer of Belleville, IL; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild; three brothers, Earl (Nora) Pruett of Chester, IL, Ronie (Lovie) Pruett of Camanche, IA, and Clyde (JoAnn) Pruett of Freeburg, IL; and brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Holy Childhood Memorial Improvement Fund or to the Family Hospice of the Belleville Area.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 9 pm Sunday, February 23, 2003, at Moll Funeral Home, Mascoutah, IL. A prayer service will be held at 4 pm Sunday, February 23, 2003 at the funeral home.

Funeral: Funeral procession will leave at 9:40am Monday, February 24, 2003, from Moll Funeral Home, Mascoutah, IL for a 10am mass of Christian Burial at Holy Childhood Catholic Church, Mascoutah, IL, with Monsignor Jerome Hartlein officiating. Burial will be in Holy Childhood Cemetery, Mascoutah, IL.
