Race car driver. He was the younger brother of the Formula 1 driver Peter Revson. He participated in various Formula Junior races in the United States in the early 1960s. In 1964 he entered the USRRC series, sharing an Elva Mk7S - BMW with Lake Underwood in the Road America 500 Miles at Elkhart Lake. The following year he moved to a Lotus 23 - Climax, finishing a creditable 5th, first of class, at Mid-Ohio, and in 1966 he was 9th at Laguna Seca and 18th at Bridgehampton. During the season he progressed to a Porsche 906, scoring a 7th place at Kent Pacific Raceway. In the next event, the Road America 500 Miles, he shared the car with his brother Peter, but they were disqualified from the race. Doug Revson drove the Porsche 906 also in the 1966 Can-Am Challenge Cup, scoring 12th place at Bridgehampton and 15th at Laguna Seca. He competed against his brother Peter for the first time in a Can-Am race in the Los Angeles Times Grand Prix, at Riverside on 30 October 1966. Peter started a McLaren M1B - Ford for the Shelby/Drummond Team and finished 6th; Doug started next to Peter in the 32nd spot and finished 14th. Finally in the last round of the series, the Stardust Grand Prix, at Las Vegas, both Peter and Doug Revson finished in the top ten, respectively 4th and 10th. In 1967 he crossed the Atlantic ocean and acquired the Brabham BT21 - Ford that he intended to race in Formula 3 meetings in Europe. While traveling in the UK, he stayed at Margaret and David Hobbs' home. In the Coupe de Vitesse at Rouen on 09 July 1967, he was the best private driver on practice, but retired prematurely during the race. Three weeks later Doug Revson went to Denmark for the Grenaa Formula 3 Grand Prix, at the Ring Djursland circuit, where he suffered the fatal crash.
