He attended West Kemper High School in DeKalb, MS. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family.
He married Brenda Westerfield, the daughter of Alex Westerfield and Mary Brown Westerfield, and they had two children, both daughters.
He worked in logging with Grantham Brothers where he broke a world wide record with hauling 336 loads in four days.
He died March 3, 2008, at the age of 44.
