Pomaria - Services for Claude Carroll Wicker will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at St. Philip's Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 - 8 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Pomaria Rescue Squad, PO Box 192, Pomaria, SC 29126 or to the St. Philip's Lutheran Church Family Life Center, 2461 St. Philip's Church Road, Newberry, SC 29108. Honorary pallbearers: Members of the Adult B Sunday School Class of St. Philip's Lutheran Church, customers of Claude's Barber Shop and members of the Lake Murray Dancers. Mr. Wicker, 79, died August 14, 2006. Born in Newberry, he was a son of the late Adam and Essie Amick Wicker. He was the owner of Claude's Barber Shop and Gateway Trailer Court. Mr. Wicker was a member of St. Philip's Lutheran Church where he was a former Councilman and church treasurer.Surviving are his wife, Edith Frick Wicker; sons, Wayne (Beth) Wicker of Newberry and Carl Wicker of Chapin; a daughter, Norma Jean (Craig) Colby of Prosperity; sisters, Ruth (Ray) Long and Pearl Leitzsey, all of Pomaria; grandchildren, Ryan Wicker, Nicole Wicker, Shanna Wicker, Kaylyn Wicker, Layton Wicker and Sophia Colby.
