Katharina was the daughter of Johann Peter Strack and Katharina Waechter Strack and younger sister of Rosa Strack Klumb and David Strack senior. She married Wilhelm James Goelzer at the age of 18 on 11/10/1864. They had five children, Franz Jacob, Peter, Heinrich Johann, Clara Louisa, and Osker. She died at the age of 46 on 7/4/1892. She and husband Wilhelm are buried at Christ Church in Dheinsville. Wilhelm died on 11/22/1888 at the age of 42. He was a partner of H.V. Schwalbach in the lumber and general merchandise business.
