Avis M. Anderson, 71, Willmar, MN passed away on Monday, January 1, 2007 at St. Catherine's Living Center, Wahpeton, ND.

The family funeral service will be on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at 3:30 PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, Breckenridge, MN with Father Kenneth Popp officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 from 2:00 to 3:30 PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, MN. Interment will be at Mitchell Township Cemetery, Rural Wolverton, MN.

Avis is survived by, her sisters: Cecelia Johnson, Breckenridge, MN, Delores Peterson, Wahpeton, ND, Virginia Ruediger, Wahpeton, ND, Verlie Knutson, Wahpeton, ND, Janet (Lee) Dobberstein, West Fargo, ND; her sister-in-law, Lois Ruediger, Breckenridge, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

Avis was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Gladys; her husband, Morris; her brother, Donald; her sister in infancy.

Avis was born September 11, 1935 in Mitchell Township near Wolverton, MN to Alfred and Gladys (Albrecht) Ruediger. She grew up there and attended rural school. Avis then worked as a waitress at Cal's Diner in Breckenridge, MN and also worked at Fairway Foods in Breckenridge.

She was united in marriage to Morris Anderson on December 2, 1968 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Breckenridge. The couple always made their home in Willmar, MN. Avis did cleaning for various homes in the Willmar area. She always kept a clean home and had a beautiful collection of glassware and dishes. Avis was an excellent baker but still enjoyed going out to eat. Morris preceded her in death on January 22, 1987. Avis continued living in Willmar until October, 2006, when she became a resident of St. Catherine's Living Center in Wahpeton, ND.
