Gray, Theresa Sandweg Theresa died peacefully surrounded by her family on June 8th, 2010, at the age of 85. She was preceded to life everlasting by her husband of 62 years, John Boyle Gray, Sr. Theresa is survived by her eight children; Joan Gray, Mary (Jim) Vetter, Anne (Paul) Heine, Barbara (Rick) Wilson, John (Becki) Gray, Jr., Kathleen (Kitty) Gray, Thomas (Robyn) Gray, Frances Gray, twelve grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Of Theresa's Sandweg family, she is survived by her baby brother Francis X. Sandweg and his wife Judy (nee Tempe), and her in-laws; Jane Sandweg (nee Dunn), Rose Marie Sandweg (nee Jackson), Oliver Dulle, and Marilyn Sandweg (nee McDermott), as well as many loving nieces and nephews. On the Gray side, Theresa is survived by her sister-in-law Mary Virginia Gray (nee Reilly) and eight special "Toledo Gray" nieces and nephews. She will be remembered and missed by her longtime friends, Elsie Lee Glickert, Dory Beckham and Dorothy Ebert. Theresa Eileen was born February 3rd, 1925, the 6th of 9 children of Mary Agnes (nee Murphy) and William H. Sandweg. On June 8th, 2010 she passed from this life to eternal life with Jesus where she was reunited with her husband, parents, and siblings: Kenneth, William, Sr. Jean Fontbonne, CSJ, Rosie, Connie (Dulle), Joan, and Jerome. Theresa attended Christ the King Church and school in University City. Upon graduation from St. Joseph's Academy, she was offered a drama scholarship to Fontbonne College, but instead took a secretarial job to help the family. Theresa met John (Jack) Gray following his return from the war and they married on September 20th, 1947. Raising eight children did not leave much time for extracurricular activities, however Theresa excelled in singing and with her soft and mellow, jazzy style she and her sisters Rosie and Connie would entertain family and friends around the piano. Doing housework, preparing dinner or running errands were accompanied with a song on her lips. Eventually she adopted her signature song "I Wish You Love", which she sang at every family (and non-family) event. As we celebrate her passing to eternal life, Theresa and her family would like to "wish you love." Services: Procession from HUTCHENS Mortuary, 675 Graham Rd., Florissant, Monday, June 14, 2010 at 9:15 a.m. to St. Rose Philippine Duchesne Church, 2650 Parker Rd., Florissant, MO, 63033 for a 10:00 a.m. Mass. Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery will immediately follow the mass. Visitation will be on Sunday, June 13th from 2-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, 6400 Minnesota Ave., St. Louis, MO 63111 or the St. Vin cent DePaul Society.
