Correctionville News, 16 September 1981, page 5: Mrs. Raphael (Aurelia) Curtin, 68, of Anthon died Tuesday, September 1, 1981, in a Sioux City nursing home of a long illness. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anthon with Rev. J.G. Skahill officiating. Burial was in Mount St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Anthon. Mrs. Curtin, the former Aurelia C. Adler, was born January 27, 1913, near Anthon to Max and Addie (Beaubien) Adler. She worked as a nurse in Ida Grove, Aurelia and Battle Creek before her marriage February 18, 1950, at Anthon. The couple farmed in the Danbury and Anthon areas before moving to Anthon in 1951. Mr. Curtin died November 16, 1966. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of America, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include one daughter, Miss Therese of Anthon, two sons, Joseph of Littleton, Colorado, and Matthew of Anthon, two grandchildren and one brother, Kenneth of Anthon. She was preceded by her parents, husband and one brother.
