Guttenberg Woman Passes Following Long Illness
BURIAL HERE
Funeral services were held on Monday morning from the Steger funeral home to St. Mary's church for Mrs. Clara Berns, 81, who died last Thursday following a long illness. The services were said by Rev. Louis Grunewald, pastor of St. Mary's.
Burial rites were in the St. Mary's cemetery with six grandsons as pallbearers, Gene, Jerome and Robert Tujetsch, Michael Berns, Ed Hoeger and Marcus Hoeger.
Mrs. Berns, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lueck, was born May 15, 1870, in New Vienna. On February 10, 1892, she was married to Theo Berns at Guttenberg. They were the parents of seven children, of whom six survive.
Mrs. Berns is survived by her six children, Edward Berns of Potosi, Wisconsin, Raymond Berns of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Mrs. L. A. Tujetsch, Mrs. Serenus Junk and Mrs. John Hoeger of Guttenberg, and Mrs. Leonard Junk of Milwaukee. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Berns was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, two sisters and three brothers.
