Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 30, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence.
Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 30, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence, with Reverend David Mears officiating. Burial will be in Clarence Cemetery, Clarence, Iowa, with full Military Honors conducted by the American Legion Post #286.
Robert Von Muenster was born March 21, 1921, in Cedar County, the son of Charles and Meta (Horn) Von Muenster. He received his education in the Cedar County schools. He proudly served in the U. S. Army during World War 11 in the South Pacific and received the Purple Heart. He married Hazel Yock on March 3, 1946. Together they farmed near Clarence, until they retired to Clarence. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Clarence, Clarence American Legion Post #286 and the Freemont Masonic Lodge #616.
Surviving are his wife, Hazel; three sons, Don (Lou Ann) Von Muenster of Clarence, Leroy (Nancy) Von Muenster of Bennett and Thomas (Corky) Von Muenster of Clarence; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Benhart, Donna Rehmke, and Betty Rehmke, all of Oxford Junction; and two sisters-in-law, Irene Von Muenster of Anamosa and Lois Hartig of Tipton.
He was proceeded in death by two sisters, Shirley Kramer and Helen Von Muenster in infancy and three brothers, William and Leo Von Muenster and Dale Von Muenster in infancy.
