Bill Guynes, 81, of Rte. 2, Iberia, died Tuesday, July 12, 1988 at the University of Missouri Hospital and Cinics in Columbia. He was born July 13, 1906 [1905] in Vernon, Tex. to Henry and Sally Parker Guynes. In 1945 he was married in Decatur, Tex. to Lucy Gallaher, who survives at the home.

Mr. Guynes was a cowboy and raised Quarter Horses, Santa Gertrudis cattle and Australian Blue Heeler dogs. He moved to the Iberia area from Texas in 1970.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Paul Guynes of Cottage Grove, Oregon and Robert L. Zahnter of Kansas City; a brother, Hicks Guynes of Shamrock, Tex.; three sisters, "Tot" Imler of Fresno, Calif., Gladys Eaton of Pomona, Calif. and Charlene Stafford of Shamrock, Tex.; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Stevinson-Mossman Funeral Home in Iberia with the Rev. Haskell Orrick officiating. Burial was in the Iberia Cemetery.
