Christina Haffner was born November 27, 1840 in Neudorf, South Russia. She married Christian Wetzler on Nov. 27, 1861 and lived with her husband in a happy marriage until he was taken from her by death on June 17, 1906. This marriage was blessed with 7 children, 2 sons and 5 daughters.

Mrs. Wetzler died April 12, 1914. She was preceded in death by her husband and two daughters, Christina Bechtold and Katherine Holmgren. She left behind her son Jacob Wetzler of Naper, Nebraska, her daughters Magdalena Korb of Colome, South Dakota and Elizabeth Holmgren of Naper, and 28 grandchildren. Burial was in the German Congregational Cemetery near Naper, Nebraska.
