Arnold subsequently moved to Greensboro, where he met and married Myrtle Dempster (1899-1986) in 1926. She was a daughter of Robert John Dempster and his wife Jerusha Joanna Stearns, originally from Union Co., NC, later of Pageland, SC.
Arnold and Myrtle lived in Greensboro, where Arnold was a real estate broker. They had four children, Bill, Sam, Margaret and Mary Jane.
