Born in Wietzenhausen, Hessen,Prussia, now Germany, Nattie was the daughter of Heinrich W. Viehmann and Elisabeth Katherina Siemmen. She departed Bremerhaven, Germany and immigrated to New York, arriving on June 30, 1870. From 1875 to 1877 she was a teacher at the Orphanage of the Child Jesus in Des Peres, Missouri.
On Oct. 2, 1877 she became the 2nd wife* of Rev. Christoph Boettcher (Heinrich Peter Christoph Boettcher) having been married by a Norwegian Lutheran pastor. She was the mother of 7.
Their children:
Lydia, Natalie Wilhelmina J., Paula, Ottilie J.,Otto Wilhelm Christoph, Emma Emalie, and Albert Gottlieb Louis Boettcher
