He was born Feb. 13, 1923, in Canaan, the son of Frank and Clara Vawter Leineweber. He served in the Army from 1943 to 1946. He retired from Jefferson Proving Ground in 1987 after working 40 years as a security officer. Hen then worked for Rental Mart at Main and Cragmont streets. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and IU basketball.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Anne Leineweber, whom he married Oct. 11, 1951; two sons, Mike Leineweber and Mark Leineweber, both of Madison; two daughters, Laura Leineweber and Linda Leineweber of Madison; two sisters, Betty Tucker of Florida and Gertrude "Trudy" Cousins of Umatilla, Fla.; and three grandchildren, James Leinweber, Jared Leinweber, and Jason Leinweber.
He was preceded in death by his father; his mother; three brothers, Harley Leineweber, Robert Leineweber and Graham Leineweber; and two sisters, Ruby Louden and Lillian Courtney.
There was a graveside service at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion conducted graveside services at the cemetery.
