Charles Whitehead

Wayland, Missouri - Charles Whitehead, 92, of Wayland died suddenly at 4:00 p.m. Monday in his home.

Born July 23, 1877 at Wyaconda, he was the son of James and Caroline Blattner Whitehead.

He married Leslie A. Soule May 4, 1929 at Aledo, Illinois and she survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Irene Hottel of Augusta, Illinois; three sons, Waldo, Wyaconda; Fred, Montrose; and Chester, Augusta, Illinois; one step-daughter, Rosa Lee Soule, Burlington; two brothers, Fred of Wyaconda and Frank of Keokuk; one sister, Mrs. Emma Cronk of Burlington; three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, five brothers and two sisters.

The funeral service will take place on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Wayland Methodist Church of which he was a member. Officiating will be Rev. D. L. Foley. Burial will in the Blattner Cemetery near Wyaconda.

The body will remain at the Karle-Shaffer Funeral Home in Kahoka until time of the service.
