When he retired in 1973, he was treasurer of Genuine Auto Parts. He was survived by wife, Marie; two daughters, Sally and Barbara; and, four grandchildren, Douglas K, Mrs. Cameron Sawzin, Melody W. and Bradley W.
He was a member of Westwood Lutheran Church, St. John's Lodge No. 13 FA&M, Scottish Rite Antioch Shrine.
