Gerald Lamont Manns, 52, of Jersey City, N.J., and formerly of Bassett, died Friday, July 2, 2010, at the Jersey City Medical Center.
He was born May 16, 1958, in Martinsville to William E. and Nancy Copening Manns, both of Bassett.
He was a member of the Star of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Bassett and had served on the Junior Usher Board.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are two brothers, Sanford Manns of Clarksville, Tenn., and Stephan Manns of Bassett; and a sister, Alana Manns of Charlotte, N.C.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Bassett Funeral Service with the Rev. William C. Randolph officiating. Burial will be in the Manns family cemetery in Bassett.
The wake will be for a half-hour before the service Friday at the funeral home.
