CENTNER Rosemary Louise, of Cincinnati, and life-long summer resident of Omena, Michigan died July 2, 2010 after a sixteen month battle with cancer. She was 83 years old. Born and raised in Newport, Kentucky, Rosemary was the daughter of Alexis and Mary Anne Centner, both deceased. Always an outstanding student, Rosemary graduated from Notre Dame Academy and Edgecliff College, and earned two Master's degrees in Chemistry and Library Science at the University of Cincinnati. Her entire career was with Procter & Gamble, where she started as a library assistant and rose to become Chief of Technical Information Services - a career that spanned 45 years. She translated five languages, and was active in the American Chemical Society. She was the first woman at Procter & Gamble to achieve executive status. She is survived by a brother, James L. Centner (Naomi) of Cincinnati and Northport Point, Michigan; also by one nephew and five nieces. An older brother, Dr. Paul J. Centner of Prairie Village, Kansas preceded her in death in 1999. Visitation at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 9, 2010 followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony Friary and Shrine, 5000 Colerain Avenue, 45223. Internment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Leelanau Conservancy Omena Fund, 105 North First St., P.O.Box 1007, Leland, MI 49654, or, to the charity of choice. Geo. H. Rohde & Son Funeral Home, Mt. Lookout, is serving the family.
