When immigrating to the United States, Werner Leeser departed Hamburg May 12, 1937 aboard the ship President Harding and arrived New York on May 22, 1937.

He was a graduate if Hughes High School and the University of Cincinnati. He served in the Air Force during the Second World War in the Pacific having enlisted March 24, 1943.

On November 30, 1943 at The Third Protestant Memorial Church in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio, Werner Michael Leeser married Audrey Eloise Kuethe. She is a native of Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio and daughter of Samuel William Kuethe and Rosalie Norma Grimm.

Werner Michael Leeser is father of Gregg Lewis Kuethe Leeser and Kathleen Rose Leeser Whelihan.
