James Henry Smith Jr., 39, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, in Fort Smith. He was a mechanic. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith. He is survived by his stepmother, Patricia Darlene Smith of Greenwood; seven sisters, Freida Price and Jenny Adamson, both of Fort Smith, Lacy Mullis and Bobby Jo Herman, both of Greenwood, Jamie Johnson of Havelock, N.C., Patsand Cox of Heavener and Elaine Durne of Hackett; six brothers, Johnny Lee and William Chancy Smith and Waylon Hurd, all of Fort Smith, Wesley Hurd of Greenwood, Billy Dalton Hurd of Van Buren and Gregory Hurd of Wister; and his stepgrandmother, Hattie Lee Otwell of Greenwood. Pallbearers will be Billy and George Bray, Dalton, Wesley and Waylon Hurd and Gary Mullis. Times Record Online
