Avery Lloyd Alderson, 76, Marion, died at 2:11 PM on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 in Marion General Hospital, Marion, IN. He was born in Farmers, Kentucky to the late Charles and Olive (Reynolds) Alderson. Lloyd was raised in New Castle, IN and moved to Marion in 1961. He married Wanda June Luellen on December 12, 1953. She survives.
Lloyd retired from Marion General Motors in 1998 after 36 years. He was a Korean War Veteran of the US Army and a Veteran of the US Air Force. He attended Grace Community Church. He coached and assisted at the Marion Pal Club and Lincoln Field for many years.
Lloyd was a devoted husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather to his family. He was a member of the Hoosier Auto Racing Fans for many years and also enjoyed Sprint Car Racing and fishing. He loved swimming with his grandsons.
