As Auglaize county commissioner, he served two terms in the 1940's and was a retired farmer.
Born November 24, 1886 in Washington township, Auglaize county, he was the son of Ernest and Fredericka Sweighman Korspeter. October 7, 1916 he married Caroline M. Katter who survives.
Also surviving, besides his wife is a stepdaughter Mrs. Stephen K. (Viola) Armstrong of 912 Neil Armstrong Drive, Wapakoneta; three grandchildren - Neil Armstrong of Seabrook, Texas. Mrs. J. R. (June) Hoffman,of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, and Dean Armstrong of Anderson, Indiana, 12 grandchildren, one stepsister Miss Clara Greisinger of Columbus,one half sister, Mrs. Moritz (Bertha) Clausing of
North Canton, Ohio. Two sisters, one brother, two stepsisters, ans one stepbrother preceded him in death.
He was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ St. Marys and of the mens' association of that church. He was also formerly a deacon of the church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday from the church with the Reverend Howard H. Poetter officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Yoder and Long Funeral Home at 314 West High Street from 3-9 p.m. Friday. The body will lie in state in the church from noon Saturday until time of the service.
