PONTIAC — Edward L. "John" Bromberek, 77, Pontiac, died at 12:26 a.m. Sunday (July 11, 2010) at OSF Saint James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac.
A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Pontiac, with the Rev. David Sabel officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Martin Funeral Home, Pontiac. The rosary will be recited at 4:45 p.m. Memorials in Edward's name may be left to a charity of the donor's choice.
Edward was born May 18, 1933, in Joliet, a son of Theodore and Gertrude Sniegowski Bromberek. He married Sandra Pawlowski on Feb. 2, 1963, in Lemont. She preceded him in death on Dec. 4, 2003.
Edward is survived by one son, David (Laurie) Bromberek, Lebanon, Ind.; one daughter, Deborah Bromberek, Pontiac; two grandchildren, Alicen and John Bromberek; and one sister, Peggy Bromberek, Downers Grove.
Edward graduated from Lemont Township High School and was a Korean War Veteran, serving our country in the Army. Edward worked at Pittsburgh International, Fairbury, for 38 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, Pontiac
