Donald is survived by his wife, Doris Weise of New Ulm; daughters and son-in-law, Judy Larsen and her special friend, Larry Jeno of Dodge Center, Jean and Ed Sturm of Hanska, Margi and Jim Rewitzer of New Ulm; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Angela Weise of Cordova, Tennessee, Tim and Karen Weise of Greer, South Carolina; thirteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; five step-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mayonne Weise, Marian Traurig both of New Ulm. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Mary Beth in 1998; brothers, Raymond and Rolland Weise; and a son-in-law, Jeff Larsen.
Donald William Weise was born on October 19, 1920 in New Ulm to William and Ann (Wiedl) Weise. He attended St. Mary's grade school and graduated from New Ulm High School. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the U. S. Army Medical Corps during WWII. On September 4, 1946 he was united in marriage to Doris Guggisberg at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm. Don worked for thirty years at Kraft Foods in New Ulm. He retired in 1985. He enjoyed volunteering for Heritage Fest, Meals For Shut-Ins, and Cathedral parish festivals. Don also enjoyed wookworking, playing cards especially bridge along with his wife with the same bridge club for the last forty three years, Listening to old time music, and doing yard work at home. His easy going nature will be missed by his many friends and family. Donald was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm and was an usher there for many years, a memberr of the N.U.A.C.S. - Fr. Alexander Berghold Society, Bishops Guild, the former Heritage Mass Singers, and the Seifert - Bianchi American Legion Post # 132 in New Ulm. In lieu of flowers memorial s may be given to: N.U.A.C.S. Scholarship Fund, New Ulm Food Shelf or the Way Of The Cross.
