Lillie Lilienthal, 75, of Durant, died Friday, May 25, 1951, at her home in Durant following a lingering illness.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 28, at the Durant Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Durant Cemetery, Durant, Iowa.

Anna Elizabeth Grafing was born July 19, 1875, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, the daughter of Diedrich and Mathilda (Schaffer) Grafing. She came to the United States with her parents when she was five years old and the family settled on a farm near New Liberty. She received her education in the Cedar County schools. She married Henry Lilienthal on October 30, 1896, in Davenport. Together they farmed in Scott and Cedar Counties, until they retired. Henry preceded her in death on November 19, 1939. She was of the Lutheran faith.

Surviving are three daughters, Meta (Elmer) Otto of Stockton, Alice (Ralph) Sievers of New Liberty and Stella (Carl) Ploen of Wilton; seven sons, Harry (Edna) Lilienthal, Albert (Elsie) Lilienthal, Allen (Erna) Lilienthal and Alvin (Dorothy) Lilienthal, all of Wilton, Raymond (Evelyn) Lilienthal and Arthur (Erma) Lilienthal, both of Bennett, and Lawrence (Beatrice) Lilienthal of Stockton; 27 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, John (Ida) Grafing of Turtle Lake, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters and one brother.
