William Lilienthal, 79, died Friday, August 3, 1951, at St. Luke's Hospital in Davenport, following a lenghty illness.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m., to 3:00 p.m., Monday, August 6, at Frick Funeral Home in Durant.

Funeral services will follow the visitation at 3:00 p.m., Monday, August 6, at Frick Funeral Home in Durant. Burial will be in the Durant Cemetery, Durant, Iowa.

William Lilienthal was born January 29, 1872, in Scott County, the son of Heinrich and Christina (Peters) Lilienthal. He attended rural schools in Scott County. He married Theresa Steffen on August 23, 1899, in Davenport. They farmed north of Durant for 30 years, until they retired in 1930, and moved to Davenport. Theresa preceded him in death on October 22, 1947.

Surviving are one daughter, Verna (Edmund) Wulf; one son, Edwin (Velma) Lilienthal; three grandchildren; three sisters, Annie (Julius) Popp of Bennett, and Bertha Hein and Martha (Henry) Hein, both of Durant.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one daughter, two sons, three brothers and four sisters.
