Mrs. Mary Alice Foster Dies
Mrs. Mary Alice Foster, one of the oldest residents of the county, died on Monday of last week at the home of her son, Mr. Louise Foster, in Fostertown. She had spent most of her life in Chickasaw County.
In May of 1868 she was married to Mr. Horace Pope Foster, a veteran of the war between the states. To this union eleven children were born, of which ten are still living, five sons and five daughters. Besides these she is survived by sixty grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren and a number of other relatives.
She was a consistent member of the Baptist Church, and was appreciated by all who knew her. The funeral was held last Thursday at Wesley Chapel, with Rev. W C Stewart saying the last rites. Interment took place in the adjoining cemetery.
