Rachael Norma Williams, born January 4, 1913, in Wisconsin, passed away November 15, 2003, in Eureka. Mom was one of eight children born to John and Martha Bastian.
In 1942, mom and dad moved to the Bay Area, where mom welded ships during World War II.
After the war, mom and dad packed up their children and bought land on Kneeland where she and Glenn built our home. There mom raised her children. Mom gave us the best things in life home baked bread, fresh vegetables from the garden, tons of love, and tender songs to fall asleep to.
In 1961 mom became Postmaster at Kneeland, working to serve her community until she was 75 years young.
On November 15, 2003, as we kissed mom and told her how very much we loved her, she gently slipped away from us to beautiful Isle of Somewhere.
Rachael is survived by her sons, Gordon Williams of Gasquet, CA, Thomas Dreyer of Juno, Alaska; daughters, Nancy Spalding of Lake Shastina, CA, Judy Cleveland of Kneeland, CA, Rebecca Williams of Shingletown, CA, Norma Johnson of Mad River, CA, Debbie Williams-Beatty of Shingletown, CA; grandchildren, Debbie, Kathy, Donald, Vincent, Damon, Richard, Rusty, Vickie, Shelly, Mike, Lori Ann, Marta, Sara, Rachael, Heather and Quinn Trinity; 16 great grandchildren with two more on the way; sister, Joyce Wright of Paso Roboles, CA, mom loved you deeply Auntie Joyce; and many friends within the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and within the community of Kneeland, these people were very important to her and she cared deeply for their wellbeing. You brought much joy to our mother's life and for that we are extremely thankful.
Rachael was preceded in death by her husband, Glenford Belas Williams; daughter, Ramona; and son, Gerald. She was also preceded by two great grandchildren, Laura Lee and Linda Lorraine; and one grandson who is always in our hearts, Scott Edward Vincent.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services... at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church..."
