OBITUARY of Thomas Ellsworth Remy
Thomas E. Remy, son of Thomas S. and Eliza Remy, was born Sept. 24, 1876, at Cassville, Wis. and died at St. Joseph hospital in Ottumwa May 1, 1956, at the age of 79 years, seven months and seven days.

His family established residence in Albia when he was a child.He graduated from Albia High school.

Mr. Remy married Millie Jackson July 4, 1900. They became the parents of seven children. One son, Forrest died in infancy.

Mr. Remy served as a mail clerk on the M.& St.L. and CB&Q railroads, and later was associated with the Albia Municipal Waterworks department.

He had held membership in First Christian Church, Albia, since Oct. 31, 1931.

Survivors are his wife: three daughters, Mrs. Kith Wood of Evanston, Ill., Mrs. Donovan Wignall of Detroit, Mich. and Miss Helen Remy at home; three sons, Keith Remy of Los Angeles, Cal., Robert Remy of Knoxville and Dale Remy of Albia; two sisters, Mrs Anna McMurray of Ottumwa and Mrs. Nora Larrabee of Aaoka, Minn.; two brothers, William Remy and George Remy both of Albia.

Also surviving are nine grand-children and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were May 3 at First Christian Church, conducted by the Rev. Daniel Kechel, pastor, and Donald Plum. Burial was in Oak View Cemetery.
