Mother of Maria E Nickert Her father was Johann Friedrich Reihl b. 1755 in Regensburg, Bavaria, Germany, d. 1832 in Strasbourg, France. She became a teacher in the new-founded girl's high school at Pforzheim and co-edited the school program, before emigrating to U.S. Her 2nd cousin Ottilie Assing in Hoboken was her friend. After a visit 20th july, 1871 accompanied by her mother and her daughter Mary Wapulski Nickert, Ottilie Assing wrote down Strasbourg recollections of her Anna Reihl that were printed in The New National Era.
