Mary Catherine Limke was born March 10, 1884 in Iowa, daughter of Henry Limke (1838-1909) and Ottilia Meyer (1844-1908). Catherine was a first-generation American as her father was born in Germany and her mother in Pennsylvania.

Catherine first married Patrick Martin Sampier, who was born May 14, 1873 in Texas. Catherine and Patrick would have four children: Eugene (1906-1971), Earl Henry (1907-1909), Donald Dale (1910-1912), and Patrick H. (about 1912- ).

In 1910, Katie, age 26; and her husband, Pat, age 37, proprietor of a rooming house; were living in Lexington Ward 3, Oklahoma (Cleveland County) with their son, Eugene, age 3, born in Oklahoma. The record shows that Katie and Pat had been married for five years and that they had given birth to two children, with only one still living.

In 1920, Catherine, age 35, and her husband, William, age 47, a farmer, born in Kansas; were living in Eason, Oklahoma (Pottawatomie County) with Catherine's two children: Eugene M. Sampier, age 13; and Patrick H. Sampier, age 8; both born in Oklahoma.

In 1930, Catherine, age 45, a widow and proprietor of a hotel, was living in Wanette, Oklahoma (Pottawatomie County) with her son, Patrick, age 17.

Catherine died January 17, 1974 in Lexington, Oklahoma, and was buried in the Lexington Cemetery near her first husband.
