Ferdinand TESKE born 12 October 1865 in Paris Akkerman, Bessarabia, South Russia was the son of Johann TESKE and Elisabeth Anna KELM.
Ferdinand at the age of 19 with his parents and siblings; Gottlieb, Wilhelmina, Gottfried, Samuel and Daniel, immigrated to America via the Port of Antwerp, Belgium aboard the SS "Belgenland" and arrived at the Port of New York, New York (Castle Garden) on the 9th of May 1885.
Ferdinand married Pauline GROSS in 1889 in Sioux Falls, Minnehaha County, South Dakota. This union was blessed with 6 children; Wilhelmina, Caroline, Gottlieb John, Martha, Olga Pauline and Lucille D.
The TESKE family lived and farmed for several years in the Menno, South Dakota area. In 1896, they moved north and homesteaded in West Ontario Township, Wells County, North Dakota, about ten miles southwest of the town of Fessenden. Their first home being a sod house.
In 1918, Ferdinand and Pauline retired to 516 Eden Street, Lodi, San Joaquin County, California.
