Conrad was born on the family farm near Endicott, son of Henry and Elizabeth Poffenroth Moore. He was educated at Hamilton School on Union Flat, near Endicott, and worked on the family farm.

He married Christina Leinweber March 8, 1924, at Colfax. They farmed near Endicott for 31 years until retiring in 1955. Upon retirement, they moved into Endicott and into their new home.

His wife died in 1983. He continued to live at Endicott until moving to Colfax five years ago.

He was a member of the Colfax First Baptist Church and had served as its Sunday school teacher, treasurer, deacon, trustee and Sunday school superintendent through the years. He also served through the years on the Endicott School Board, board of directors of Pacific Supply Cooperative, Dusty (Wash.) Farm Co-op and the Endicott Grain Growers. He was the mayor of Endicott for four years.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Henry, Adam and Samuel, and three sisters, Elizabeth Leinwebber, Amelia Hayden and Elma Moore.
