Juel Wierson, age 60 of Cannon Falls, passed away at his home Monday, July 26 2010.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 30, 2010 at 12:00 noon at the Bierman Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Northfield Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be on Friday beginning at 10:00 am until the hour of services at the funeral home.

Juel Craig Wierson, the son of Bernard and Phyllis (Jack) Wierson was born on January 15, 1950 in Northfield. Juel graduated from the Northfield High School in 1968. After graduation, Juel enlisted in the Marines and served his country in Vietnam from 1968 until 1970. Juel then began working for Viking Concrete and farmed.

Juel was a special person, who loved to play and joke around with his family, friends and grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, gardening and loved traveling to Alaska and Florida.

Juel is survived by his four children, Kristine (Jesse) Flies of Apple Valley, Craig (Leanna) Wierson of Elko, Bandie Lee Jones of Blaine, and Troy Wierson of St. Paul; his parents, Bernard and Phyllis Wierson of Northfield; brothers, Thomas (JoEllen) Wierson of Dundas, Richard and Randy Wierson both of Northfield; sisters, Sandra (Frank) Petricka and Robin (Louis) Patrick both of Northfield; 11 grandchildren, Natalie and Allison Flies, Leighton Wierson, Alyssa Hoffmann, Calvyn Wierson, Jordan, Paige and Jayson Jones, Charlie Wojo, Kayla and Britney Wierson; and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a special uncle Juel Wierson.
