ELIZABETH JANE BLISS, 83, passed away Friday, July 30, 2010, at the home of her daughter in Fishers. Her family was at her bedside. Born Nov. 26, 1926, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of the late Richard W. Lohman, Sr. and Ida Bell Gorman Lohman. She graduated from North Side High School, Fort Wayne in 1944, and then participated in the Cadet Nursing Program at Indiana University School of Medicine. She was a Registered Nurse. She married William E. Bliss on March 4, 1950 at Forest Park Methodist Church in Fort Wayne. They celebrated 60 years of marriage in March 2010. She raised and showed Chihuahuas for more than 40 years. She had many champions and participated in dog shows throughout the states. She was also a life member of the Chihuahua Club of America. She volunteered for many years at Lutheran Hospital. She is survived by her husband, William; daughters, Laura Roman and Denise Bliss of Fishers; grandchildren, Sarah Morgan (Joe) Arbuckle, Garrett Waite, Nicholas Waite, Tyler Roman, Chad Peyron and Haley Peyron; great-granddaughter, Cecelia Jane Arbuckle; sister, Barbara Rump of Fort Wayne; and sister-in-law, Norma Lohman of Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Lohman Jr. Service is 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2, 2010 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne with visitation from 12 to 1 p.m. prior to service. Her nephew Rev. David Bliss will be officiating. Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
